Do you experience excruciating, stabbing pain in the soles of your feet when you first step onto the floor in the morning? Do you have difficulty walking during the day due to pain in the bottoms of your feet? You may be suffering from an all too common malady, that many of my patients suffer from here in South Florida, called Plantar Fasciitis. The plantar fascia is a sheet of connective tissue that runs from your toes to your heel, covering the bottom, or plantar surface, of your foot. Like a tree that is flexible and bends in a strong wind so that it doesn’t snap in two, your plantar fascia should be soft, pliable and flexible, yielding to the different surfaces you walk on. Unfortunately, here in South Florida, many of us like to walk barefoot on hard, manmade surfaces, wear thin flip flops that don’t give enough support to our feet, or even run barefoot on the beach. All of these can put excessive stress on the bottoms of our feet, causing the plantar fascia to become inflamed. As a protective mechanism, your body then deposits calcium into the plantar fascia, causing it to harden in an effort to make it more resistant to stresses put on it while walking. And those are the two hallmarks of Plantar Fasciitis – inflammation and hardening of the plantar fascia.
The conventional treatment is sadly ineffective for many, leaving them with debilitating pain. Wearing an orthopedic boot, rolling your foot firmly over a hard ball to “massage” the tightness out, and pain medications just aren’t an effective solution for so many patients that eventually come to see me in desperation. Thankfully, a brilliant physician, Albert Abrams, M.D., in the 1920s discovered that electromagnetic frequencies can signal changes in our body tissues in the same way as a drug, but non-invasively and without side effects. Dr. Abrams’ discovery paved the way for the creation of the modern day treatment modality called Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM). It is a completely painless and non-invasive treatment that gives most patients immediate and significant relief from a wide array of painful conditions. I have developed a protocol for Plantar Fasciitis pain by pairing FSM with a single natural anti-inflammatory supplement in order to minimize the number of treatments needed for lasting relief. I can’t even begin to tell you how many of my Plantar Fasciitis patients have called me to express their amazement over how after only a single treatment, they awoke the next morning to find no pain when they stepped onto the floor, and how after a mere handful of treatments their many years of painful Plantar Fasciitis pain was completely gone and didn’t return after treatments were stopped.
